Erkrath, September 19, 2025 – The BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga and HUDORA are joining forces and have agreed on a partnership. The focus of this collaboration is the primary school initiative “15,000x Basketball”.
Initially, the BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga and HUDORA have agreed to organize three basketball action days under the slogan “HUDORA RoCo-Days” at the locations Bremerhaven, Münster, and Erfurt by the end of the year. The goal is to get as many children as possible moving at local primary schools and to inspire them for sport and physical activity.
During the action days, HUDORA will present its new basketball stand, the RoCo “Round Corner”. After each event, one unit of the new model will be raffled off at the respective location – an extra highlight for all participating schools and children.
The collaboration is closely linked to the primary school initiative “15,000x Basketball”. The main objective of “15,000x Basketball” is to increase physical activity among primary school children in their daily school routine. Particularly with the planned transition to full-day care in the coming years, basketball as a sport will help children not only to develop physically but also to learn values such as teamwork, respect, and fair play. The joint initiative of the German basketball organizations aims to establish basketball in 15,000 primary schools by 2032 and to further spread enthusiasm for the sport.
