What do I have to observe to ride my scooter safely?
According to the terms of the Road Traffic Act, a scooter is not a vehicle! It is therefore only suitable for riding on the pavement. It may be adjusted to different heights by loosening the fixed handlebar. Don’t make any alterations to your scooter that might impair its safety. Regular checking and maintenance will enhance both its safety and its lifetime. It takes some skill to ride a scooter – this is why you should ride it with the appropriate care. HUDORA scooters are not suited for jumps.
How can I reduce the speed or stop?
You slow down the scooter by pushing down the mud-guard onto the rear wheel. It is essential that you don’t press too hard in order to keep the rear wheel from blocking – this would reduce the steerability and significantly increase the wear of the wheels.
What can I do about worn-down wheels?
Spare wheels are available as basic equipment in the shops, and you can exchange them easily. If a replacement becomes necessary, take care only to use wheels that match the original ones in terms of material and size. Only use spare parts that were manufactured by HUDORA.
Where can I ride the scooter without risking an accident?
You can ride your scooter safely on the pavement, in empty school yards after school, in empty car parks out of shopping hours, and, of course, indoors, in passages and halls. Avoid sloping grounds. Ride your scooter only on suitable surfaces that should be even, clean, and dry. Always be mindful of other people when you ride your skooter.
